THE FRAME

The frame of the cubes is made of stainless steel in a truss structure. This solution not only gives the cubes superior structural properties, but also makes them very durable.
The cube frames are designed as UNIVERSAL ADAPTERS - so that they can accommodate a vast array of different components

those that we already know of (AC motor, BLDC motor, hydro motor, 2170 battery pack,…)

and those that we would like to adapt (4680 battery pack, TEG energy module, hydrogen fuel cell, etc.)

DURABLE DESIGN
The frame has level B5 ballistic protection capabilities just from its thickness, and structural design.

The choice of material was a key point for us, as we not only wanted the VariTrak cubes frame to last even in the harshest of conditions, but to also be easily repairable, and to put as little as possible burden on the environment, while also being a highly economical solution.
g a highly economical solution.
EFFICIENCY AND SUSTAINABILITY
With the use of stainless steel, the frame withstands corrosion in water, mud, and snow. We can also omit a lot of expensive and also polluting manufacturing steps (like rustproofing, galvanising, or painting).

This approach not only saves time and money, while giving the VariTrak vehicles an unparalleled tenacity, it also enables easy and fast repair, and partial replacement, while polluting less, and enabling effective material recyclement.
THE COVER PLATE
To make the frame enclosed we designed the cover plates.

4 cover plates are needed to close one side of a cube.
The cube frames combined with the cover plates function as an exoskeleton, that houses and protects all the parts of the different vehicles.

If a soft skinned military vehicle needs to be built cover plates made of recycled plastic can be used. This is cheap, robust, and also doesn’t rust.

If a very light armour is needed, then the cover plates can be made of stainless metal sheets. This gives the vehicle a bullet resistance very similar to what Cybertrucks have. This means it can easily stop 9mm ammunition, but not much above.
For stronger armour capabilities more than one layer of cover plate can be used. The best option is to create a sandwich structure of steel and other bullet resistant materials. With this approach level B5 or even B6 ballistic protection can be achieved, which is ideally suited to neutralize the treats from most calibres fired from assault rifles commonly found around the world.

The plates not only provide bullet, but also water, dust and impact proofing for the cube. The different type of plates also become a part of the structural setup. In this way plates not only increase the ballistic resistance level of the vehicle, but the more rigid plates are used, the stronger the whole structure becomes.
Fully assembled for example the M series cubes become so strong that they can withstand loads of more than one metric ton on each side.

THE PATCH BEAM
The patch beams are designed to enable the electricity and data transfer between the cubes. They are designed with a rigid composite structure to be more resilient against the elements.

The patch beams fit in the symmetrical groove in the middle of all cubes. As all sides of the cubes are the mirror of each other and centrally symmetric.

This enables the patch beams to connect cubes in any assembly direction.

STEERING
The modular structure enables different chooseable steering methods.
